Accreditations & Affiliations

The Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS), the gold seal for air ambulance operators, accredits Kalitta Charters’ air ambulance operations. Developed exclusively by and for the air medical transportation industry, this national accreditation organization focuses on quality of patient care and safety of the transport environment through an in-depth on-site review by professional CAMTS surveyors. The CAMTS accreditation process is voluntary and designed to ensure the highest quality of service in regards to patient medical care and aircraft safety. Kalitta MedFlight is one of the few air ambulance companies holding its own 135 certificate with 10 fully operational LearJets.
Department of Defense Approved Carrier
The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Commercial Airlift Review Board has approved Kalitta Charters to participate in the DoD Air Transportation Program. This approval is based on inspections and aircraft check rides performed by the DoD Air Carrier Survey and Analysis Office, U.S. Air Force Headquarters and Air Mobility Command. Commercial air carriers are audited and inspected on an ongoing basis for authority to transport DoD personnel and contractors.

Association of Air Medical Services
Kalitta Charters is a member of the Association of Air Medical Services (AAMS), an international association established in 1980 to serve the providers of air and surface medical transport systems. AAMS is a voluntary, non-profit organization, which encourages and supports its members in maintaining a standard of performance reflecting safe operations and efficient patient care. AAMS is built on the idea that representation from a variety of medical transport services and businesses can be brought together to share information, resolve problems and provide leadership in the medical transport community.

Air Medical Physician Association
The Air Medical Physician Association is the largest professional organization of physicians dedicated to rotor wing (helicopter), fixed wing (airplane) and critical care ground transport. With over 400 members nationally and internationally, the association represents extensive expertise in the field of medical transport. Members represent many medical specialties including emergency medicine, critical care medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics and various surgical subspecialties.

Case Management Society of America
The Case Management Society of America is the leading membership association providing professional collaboration across the healthcare continuum to advocate for patients’ wellbeing and improved health outcomes by fostering case management growth and development, impacting healthcare policy, and providing evidence-based tools and resources.

The American Case Management Association’s mission is to be THE association for hospital / health system case management professionals. Its goals are to provide innovative professional development services by mentoring, educational forums, and resource information; create new opportunities for networking; and influence the policies, laws and other issues related to the practice of case management.

Kalitta Charters is a member of the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA), a non-profit, nonpartisan Washington, D.C-based organization dedicated to the success of the business aviation community. For 60 years, the NBAA has served the aviation community through its leadership efforts at all levels of government and business, both in the U.S. and worldwide. The NBAA’s values include safety, efficiency, relevance, versatility, integrity, commitment, excellence, and satisfaction. The NBAA is Kalitta Charters’ voice in national policies affecting the aviation industry.

Kalitta Charters is a member of the Air Transport Association (ATA). The ATA’s fundamental purpose is to foster a business and regulatory environment that ensures safe and secure air transportation. It enables U.S. airlines to flourish, stimulating economic growth, locally, nationally, and internationally.

Kalitta Charters became a member of the Animal Transportation Association (ATA) in July of 2009. The ATA provides an important opportunity for individuals, businesses, organizations and groups involved in any phase of animal transportation to become part of an international effort to find solutions to a variety of problems related to the transport of animals. This organization further encourages uniform and effective international regulations and humane handling of live animals.

Kalitta Charters has been a member of the International Society of Explosives Engineers (ISEE) since 2008. The ISEE was formed in 1974 as a professional society dedicated to promoting the safety, security and the controlled use of explosives in mining, quarrying, avalanche control and many other peaceful uses of explosives.

Kalitta Charters became a member of the National Defense Transportation Association (NDTA) in 2005. NDTA is a non-political and non-profit educational association of government, military, and industry professionals dedicated to fostering a strong and efficient global transportation and distribution system in support of national security. NDTA serves as a vital link among the armed forces, government and industry on current matters of transportation, travel, distribution, logistics, and security.

Kalitta Charters is a member of the National Air Transportation Association (NATA), a national association of aviation business service providers. NATA’s mission is three-fold: to be the leading national trade association representing the business interests of general aviation service companies on legislative and regulatory matters at the federal level; to provide education, services and benefits to its members that contribute to their long-term economic success; and to ensure the wellbeing and continuity of the association.

Kalitta Charters has been a proud corporate member of the Airlift/Tanker Association (ATA) since 2008. The ATA is dedicated to providing a forum for ensuring American military forces continue to have the air mobility capability required to implement U.S. national security strategy.

Fly-A-Charter (FAC), certified by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), is an Expedite Air Charter Manager providing door-to-door services. Utilizing a uniquely developed proprietary internet-based bidding system, Fly-A-Charter is able to match the client’s shipment with hundreds of pre-qualified carriers to offer mutable time and cost options, all with real-time track and trace.

Owned and operated by Conrad (Connie) Kalitta, Kalitta Air is an FAR 121 air carrier operating a fleet of Boeing 747 aircraft. Kalitta Air specializes in moving freight around the world.

It holds events all over the United States and Canada with over 80,000 drivers on its roster. The NHRA is one of the largest motorsports sanctioning bodies in the world.
