Qualifications & Training

Adult & Pediatric Medical Teams

All medical team members have a minimum of three years’ critical care experience and are certified in:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Advanced Pre-Hospital Emergency Pediatric Preparation (PEPP)
  • International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) or Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (TNCC)

Neonatal Specialty Team

All neonatal specialty team members have a minimum of three years’ critical care experience in Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Units and are certified in:

  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Continuing Education includes the S.T.A.B.L.E. Program and S.T.A.B.L.E. – Cardiac Module

Education

All medical team members attend a comprehensive orientation program which includes: aircraft safety, flight physiology, air medical resource management, advanced airway management and invasive skills lab, review of all medical equipment and flight internship.

Annual training includes: aircraft safety, flight physiology, shock pathophysiology, air medical resource management, Dynamic Human Patient Simulator (HPS) scenarios, advanced airway management and invasive skills lab; all of which are overseen by the Adult and Neonatal/Pediatric Medical Directors.  All medical team members also complete mandatory monthly continuing education.
